The BCB is going to organize the first ever Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for women cricketers in the history of Bangladesh cricket. After the success in the men’s BPL, the BCB has now turned its attention to the women’s Premier League. Seven matches of the tournament will be held at three venues in the country in April. After six matches each in Bogra and Chittagong, the final will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka with the two champions of the two venues.

According to BCB sources, the women’s BPL will be inaugurated at the Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra on April 4. A total of three teams are participating in this new tournament in the T20 format. The BCB has not yet been able to announce the names of the teams as the franchise has not been decided. However, the initial fixtures of the tournament have been released. According to the published fixtures, the first three matches of the tournament will be held on April 4, 5 and 6 at Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra. Three matches will be held on April 9, 10 and 11 at the Chittagong MA Aziz Stadium and the final match will be held on April 14 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur in the capital. If the final match is not possible on the scheduled day due to weather conditions, a reserve day has been set for April 15.

Shahid Chandu Stadium Venue Manager Jamilur Rahman Jamil said that the field is being prepared for the Women’s BPL. The groundsmen are working tirelessly to build wickets as per the BCB’s requirements. The BCB has already taken the initiative to renovate the stadium. The media box will be renovated before the start of the BPL. The process of renovating the road outside the stadium has also started.

It is reported that in the Women’s BPL, along with the country’s famous female cricketers, several foreign star cricketers will be seen in each team. Each match will be broadcast live on television. Ticket arrangements will be made for the spectators. However, the BCB has not yet announced the ticket price. Meanwhile, the news of the first ever women’s BPL being organized in Bogra has received a huge response from local cricket fans. The people of Bogra, who have been deprived of international matches for a long time, are demanding the immediate organization of international matches along with the women’s BPL.
