Bangladesh’s batting storm at Shahid Chandu Stadium

Bangladesh A made a great start in the first ODI of the 3-match series between the visiting Zimbabwe A and Bangladesh A. Despite losing opener Shahadat at the beginning of the innings, home captain Zakir Hasan, along with Iftekhar, who went down for one down, thrashed the visiting bowlers and set a run-scoring record.

After 24 overs, Bangladesh A’s total was 181 runs for 2 wickets.

Zimbabwe A won the toss at the Shahid Chandu Stadium in the morning and sent Bangladesh A into bat. After opener Shahadat Hossain Sajghar returned after scoring 6 individual runs, Iftekhar Ahmed Ifti formed a partnership with team captain Zakir Hasan.

The pair beat the visiting bowlers as they wished, and both of them achieved fifties. Team captain Zakir Hasan’s fifty came off 47 balls with 6 fours and a six. Ifti scored a half-century in just 42 balls. He also hit 6 fours and a six.

Ifti was dismissed for 70 individual runs in the team’s 169 runs. At the same time, the valuable partnership of 157 runs with Zakir Hasan was separated.

After 24 overs, Bangladesh A’s total was 181 runs for 2 wickets. Zakir Hasan is unbeaten on 91 and Amit Hasan is on 6 runs.

For Zimbabwe A, Ernest Mashukuk and Antitum Nagvi took 1 wicket each.
