A rally and discussion meeting was held in Bogra on the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day. On Thursday (July 2), at 12 noon, the Bogra Sports Reporters Association organized a program at the Bogra Press Club auditorium. Bogra-6 (Sadar) Sadar constituency MP Rezaul Karim Badsha spoke as the chief guest. The program was presided over by Bogra Sports Reporters Association President Mustafa Mughal.
The event was moderated by Bogra Sports Reporters Association General Secretary H Alim and special guests included Bogra City Corporation Administrator MR Islam Swadhin, District Council Administrator Bogra AKM Ahsanul Tayyab Zakir, Bogra Press Club President Rota: Rezaul Hasan Ranu, General Secretary and Journalist Welfare Trust Member Kalam Azad, Journalist Union Bogra President Ganesh Das, General Secretary SM Abu Sayeed, Bogra District Sports Association Member Secretary Khawaja Abu Hayat Hiru. Venue Manager of Shaheed Chandu Stadium Jamilur Rahman Jamil spoke. The organization’s founding president Rahat Ritu delivered the welcome speech, while former presidents Zahurul Islam, Tofazzal Hossain, Executive Committee Joint General Secretary Shamim Alam, Treasurer Sanaul Haque Shuvo and others spoke.
In the meeting, Bogra-6 (Sadar) MP Rezaul Karim Badsha of Sadar constituency said, “When we started working on the development of Bogra, various conspiracies started. Some issues are being brought up very forcefully on social media to divert people’s attention.” As if the development of Bogra has stopped. But they forget that there has been no development in the last 17 years. If Bogra had been developed equally in the last 17 years, there would have been no talk. Only Bogra district has been deprived alone. Now, plans are being made to build a city bypass along the Karatoya River in Bogra. So that the city’s traffic jams are relieved. The second Jamuna Bridge will be built to bring the northern districts to the development list. Plans to build a sports complex for all children and youth in Bogra have also moved forward. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has promised to develop Bogra, which has been deprived of development since the past. An international airport, including a university, cargo service, and an economic zone will be built.
The Bogra Sports Reporters Association has been celebrating World Sports Journalists Day on July 2 in Bogra since 2013. This organization is also contributing to the development of local sports by welcoming athletes, sports organizers, and sports reporters.
