The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the squad for the first two matches of the three-match T20 series against Ireland. There have been two changes to the team from the last series against the West Indies. Shamim Hossain and Taskin Ahmed, who were in that team, are not present this time.

Taskin is currently playing T10 in Abu Dhabi. He took a no-objection letter from the BCB until November 23. That leave has been extended.

The BCB did not give any explanation in the team announcement press release about why Shamim was dropped. Shamim and Taskin have been replaced by Saifuddin and Mahidul Islam.

Although Saifuddin was with the team at the beginning of the last series, he did not get a chance to take the field. This time he is back. Despite playing one Test and three ODIs for the country, Mahidul has not yet made his T20 debut.

The first T20I between Ireland and Bangladesh will be played on November 27. The next two matches will be played on November 29 and December 2. All three matches will be played at the Birshreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chittagong.
