Bangladesh U-17 cricket team defeated the visiting Sri Lanka U-17 team by a huge margin of 78 runs in the first ODI. Bangladesh set a target of 272 runs for the Sri Lankans, relying on Adrito Ghosh’s unbeaten 103 runs. But the controlled bowling of the Bangladeshi bowlers stopped the Sri Lankan innings at 193 for 7 wickets.

Sri Lanka’s Jason Fernando scored the highest 78 runs. Besides, Sanul Weeraratne scored 34, Hirun Mathisa scored 28 runs.

For Bangladesh, Akash, Mahinuzzaman, Faiyaz, Zarif Saian, Iftekhar, Rakibul and Akash Roy took 1 wicket each.

Adrito Ghosh was adjudged the Player of the Match for Bangladesh for his impeccable century.

After Naeem returned to the dressing room for 32 runs for the team’s 55 runs, Bogra’s son Akash Roy came in and formed a partnership with Adrito. This partnership took the team to 144 runs. Akash was out for 39 runs, giving a valuable partnership of 89 runs, but Adrito fought back and scored a century in the end. Bangladesh’s innings ended with 6 wickets in 50 overs. Adrito scored 103 runs unbeaten. His innings was decorated with 8 fours and 2 huge sixes.

For the Sri Lankans, Himaru took 2 wickets, Kadithua, Giman Mendis and Lahiru Lakmal took 1 wicket each.
