Moslem Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament to Start Tomorrow in Bogra

The “SR Group Moslem Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament” has been organized by the former cricketers’ organization X Cricketers, Bogra in memory of the late Moslem Uddin, a former coach and one of the architects of Bogra’s cricket development.

The tournament will be inaugurated at Shaheed Chandu Stadium on Saturday at 8.30 am by the newly elected member of parliament from Bogra-6 constituency and district BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha.

In the opening match, Young Cricket Club will face Independence-24 at 9 am and Unity Cricketers will fight against MS Club at 1.30 pm.

Khaled Mahmud Rubel, one of the members of the tournament committee, said that a total of 16 teams are participating in this tournament, which is being organized for the first time. The teams participating in the tournament will be divided into 4 groups and play. The quarter-finals will be held with the champion teams of the 4 groups. After that, the semi-finals will now be held. Two matches will be held every day. Apart from Bogra, strong teams from different districts of the country are participating in the tournament.

The A-group includes Spartan Strikers, Bangla Track CA, Satmatha Kings CC and RCC, the B-group includes Unity Cricketers, Young Cricket Club, Independence-24 and MS Club, the C-group includes Varnish Warriors, JDCCA, Dhunat Upazila City and Rising Cricketers, the C-group includes Lions Pabna, Banasree CA, Sonargaon SC and Arman Sports.

He also said that the champion team will be given a trophy and a cash prize of 1.5 lakh taka and the runner-up team will be given a trophy and a cash prize of 1 lakh taka. Man of the Final will be given 3 thousand taka, Man of the Tournament 5 thousand taka, Best Bowler and Best Fielder 2 thousand taka and a crest. In addition, Man of the Match of each match will be given 1 thousand taka in cash and a crest.

Khaled Mahmud Rubel further said that Moslem Uddin has made an outstanding contribution to the development of cricket in Bogra. Tauhid Hridoy and Tanjid Hasan Tamim, who were produced by him, are currently playing in the national team. His contribution is also behind the success of star cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim. Moslem was the driving force behind the development of women cricketers in Bogra. Khadijatul Kobra and Ritu Mani, one of the members of the national women’s team, were produced by him. To commemorate Moslem Uddin’s contribution to the development of women’s cricket, the women cricketers produced by him have been given the responsibility of reserve umpires in the tournament. He also said that this tournament was organized to honor this man who was a passionate cricket fan.
