2nd Odi
A double strike by pacer Nahid Rana has stalled New Zealand’s run-chase. In the series-deciding second ODI, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 41 runs for 2 wickets in 14 overs.
Nahid Rana took the wicket on the first delivery of the match for the first time in the match. The umpire accepted the LBW appeal after the ball that fell on the middle stump hit Henry Nicholls’ pad.
Nicholls initially thought of taking a review. However, he spoke to Nick Kelly and made his way out. Nicholls scored 13 runs off 26 balls. The replay shows that even if Nicholls took a review, it would not have benefited Nicholls, on the contrary, an opportunity would have been wasted for his team. The ball hit the middle-off stump.
Nahid Rana took a wicket on the first ball even after coming to bowl the second over. The ball that went inside the short length had extra bounce, Will Young could not release it, could not handle it. The ball hit the bat and went to Soumya Sarkar at backward point. Easy catch.
Young returned for 2 runs off 7 balls. Nahid Rana took two wickets for New Zealand.
Team captain Tom Latham is batting, along with Nick Kelly.
