The second one-day match of the series between Bangladesh Emerging Team and Zimbabwe A has been abandoned due to the wet outfield at Shaheed Chandu Stadium due to intermittent rain.

After a desperate attempt to dry the field since Wednesday morning, the chances of playing were ended when the rain started again after 11:30 am. Finally, at 12:15 pm, the match referee declared the match abandoned.

After the rain stopped, the groundsmen rushed to remove the water from the outfield with all their might. They sponged the water from different corners of the field. At 10:30 am, the umpire and the captains and managers of both teams inspected the field and at 12:45 pm, they inspected it again and informed that a decision would be taken regarding the game. But after 10:45 pm, when the rain started pouring again, the wicket and some parts of the field were covered again.

After the umpire and the captains and managers of both teams inspected the field at 12 noon, the match referee declared the match abandoned.

Bangladesh Emerging Team is leading 1-0 after winning the first match of the 3-match ODI series. The final ODI of the series will be held at Rajshahi Stadium on June 13. After that, both teams will travel to Sylhet. There will be two four-day matches.
